Why IGU separation

Striving to make the world a little bit better place, I was asking myself, about the journey of all the flat glass converted into building products. Most of the glass serves as insulating glass either as Window or as facade, but what happen at the end of the IGU service life?

Yes, you are right, most of the glass will be down-cycled to filling material or even disposed. However it is huge effort in terms of raw material and energy (think about the energy required to melt glass at more than 1550°C) to produce the glass.

This calls for a better use....

and it all starts with IGU separation.

The easy and safe way to separate insulating glass:

IG-D Manual

Next step to automation

The kit for disassembly contains:

  • Guiding assembly, mountable on Fein Multimaster
  • 2 Cutting Knifes for industrial Fein Adapter

IG-D Portfolio

IG-D machines are developed from handheld manual machines to fully automated lines, allowing you to choose according to your production requirements with respect to the amount of IGUs to be disassembled.

The choice is yours ...

IG-D manual allows easy safe opening of IGU units. based on the specially designed oscillation knife. During cutting the operator always keeps safe distance away for the sharp glass edges, as guiding of the cut is insured by soft rubber rollers.

The system is conceived to work best with Fein Multimaster MM700 Q1.7.

Ergonomic clamping mechanism allows easy and quick adjustment of cutting depth . Cutting along the glass edge is guided, save and  automatically restricted, Rubber rolls insure soft glass contact and avoid damage on glass edges. Therefore IG-D avoids nasty scratches on visible potentially coated glass areas.

The glass edges are only touched by soft rubber rolls, avoiding edge damage of the glass panes.

Simple depth adjustments

Demountable vertical guiding

Vertical rolls allow you to ajust and guide your cut additionally in vertical direction. This enables you secure cuts through soft spacers like TPS for instance.  Such cuts are used often for fassade element to avoid any contact between cutting device and glass surface.

What makes IG-D unique?

With Lisec we developed the system already into an automated solution. The cutting device, moved by a robot arm, placed in front of a vertical glass transport section allows for automated separation. The Automated system consecutiveley cuts edges of double and triple glass units. Special glass dection allows precise automated cutting along the edge. The system ist conceived to fit requirements from small sizes (500 x 500mm) up to nearly jumbo size.
